How did your injured your shoulder?
I injured myself around 6 years ago when I was throwing at a rugby match for a social club.
What were the symptoms?
Excruciating pain. I couldn’t lift my arm above the head. I couldn’t throw the rugby ball.
I had an operation 3 years ago and it was a failure.
After the first surgery I was feeling a lot of pain. I only had one follow up leading me nowhere to a full recovery, like it was promise.
How the symptoms affected your life?
It was hard to keep healthy and active. I could run but I couldn’t lift weights or go to the gym. I was restricted to social life; I could not play rugby anymore.
I couldn’t do the sports I wanted.
How did you feel when you met Prof.Kochhar?
Andy referred Prof.Kochhar and I feel at ease when I met him. He is very direct and pragmatic. He explained everything.
He said “I can fix it” but advised that I will need to do physiotherapy for a better recovery.
And that Prof.Kochhar has a constant contact with my physiotherapist updating about my case, makes me happy.
How did you feel after the CAM op?
After the operation I was not expecting the recovery I had. In the previous surgery I woke up with terrible pain, and this time it was fine. I have more range of movement. I am really happy with it.
The care I had from LBH was a bliss, I was comfortable after the operation. I am happy with everything. There is still more work to do with Andy, but I am really happy.
I am excited to go back and do things I couldn’t.
What would you say to other patients about the Cam procedure?
Every person has different grades. But in my case, if it is the same, I recommend it. Absolutely,
I am happy and I will recommend it.
